Diwali Celebrations Event 2011

The 'Rajasthani- Indians Society of Ireland' (RISI) celebrated Diwali (Festival of Lights) Event on Thursday 27th Oct 2011, 5.00 p.m. onwards at Bumbai Creative Restaurant, Hotel Riverforest, Leixlip Co. Kildare. Approximately sixty members and guests attended the event.

Mr Ravi Chandar, Second Secretary / Diplomat from Embassy of India, Dublin attended the Diwali Celebration as special guest along with his wife (Mrs Rajani) and Son (Varun).

Swami Pooranand Ji and Mr Patrick Shanahan from the Institute of United Culture were also other special guests. In celebrating Diwali, the special prayers (Pooja) of God 'Ganesha' and Goddess 'Maa Laxmi' were conducted by Swami Pooranand Ji and Dr (Mrs) Mohini Prajapat (Cultural Secretary) along with members /  guests of the event.

On this auspicious occasion, the RISI had launched its official website: www.risi.ie The opening of website was inaugurated by Mr Ravi Chandar (Second Secretary). Mr Babu Lal Yadav (General Secretary) provided a brief introduction about the design and salient features of the society's website to all audience.

Prior to departing, group photos were taken. Mr Devi Singh Bidhawat (President) gave thanks to everyone for participating in Diwali Celebration and to Executive Committee Members for successful organisation of the event.
